TRAINING TIPS

Introduction

A bunch of years ago, the U.S. Scouting Service Project web site went down when they lost their server. As they worked to find and fund a new host server, we lost all the great services that we had come to depend on.

This all happened in January which portended something of a panic amongst Cub Scout people when they needed access to Baloo’s Bugle as Blue and Gold season approached. A few of us on the net were able to accumulate an almost complete archive of old Bugles and then tried to locate Chris Reichel (the originator) to see how we could help. It rurned out that Chris was no longer doing it, so in our ignorance, and believing that it’s often easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission, we published the BB-Archives on our own sites and told various Cub Scouts forums how to access them.

About a week later, Dave Lyons, informed us that he had taken over the Bugle from Chris and that he was appreciative of what we were doing and even offered forgiveness! This was the beginning of what turned out to be a long cyber-relationship between us. As we continued to communicate, I eventually started to write Training Tips - a Bugle feature that Chris would occassionally use. Dave wanted it as a regular item. I was happy to comply and here is a compilation of what I have been able to do.
